Vision and Mission

Mission of LGED:

Acting as a catalyst for increasing production in the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors, creating employment, improving socio-economic conditions, improving the management system of local government institutions and poverty alleviation at the local level through local infrastructure development and management.


Vision of LGED:

As a government agency, LGED will play a role in implementing the following interrelated and supporting activities with professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness:

1) Development, maintenance and management of transport, trade and small scale water resources by ensuring the participation of people and local government institutions taking into account social and environmental issues.

2) Capacity building of local government institutions and services to local communities and stakeholders through technical and institutional support.
